CNC Machine Operator
Job Description
SSC Works is looking for a skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our production team in Balikpapan. In this role, you will operate and maintain CNC lathe and milling machines to manufacture and repair precision components for heavy equipment used in mining, construction, and industrial operations.
You will work closely with our engineering and quality control teams to ensure every component meets dimensional accuracy and material standards before delivery. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in precision workmanship and wants to grow within a technical production environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathe and milling machines according to work orders and technical drawings.
- Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and machining sequences for each job.
- Monitor the machining process and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Inspect finished components using calibrated measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.).
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with SSC Works safety standards.
Requirements
- Minimum SMK/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience operating CNC lathe and/or milling machines.
- Able to read technical/engineering drawings and GD&T basics.
- Familiar with CNC programming (G-code) is an advantage.
- Detail-oriented, disciplined, and comfortable working to tight tolerances.
- Willing to work on-site in Balikpapan and follow shift schedules when required.
